I Think That Mathilde Loisel was not a very good person. She was very sad and had no fun but then when she finally got to do something she messed it up big time. The Way she lost the necklace does not make much sense to me but i guess it happened. She should have told her friend and been honest and the last ten years of her poverty stricken life would be much different. I think it really sucks for her all because she was dishonest P.M
Mathilde Loisel is a middle-class woman that strongly desires to be rich and envied. At first, she seemed like a very selfish woman that didn't care about anyone but herself. But, when she lost the necklace, she went through lots of trouble to get that necklace back to her friend. She learned what it was like to be truly poor and learned to appreciate more than just the material things in life.
I was surprised by the ending of the story because of the fact that Mathilde payed way more for the replacement necklace than the original necklace costed. It was very ironic. If she would've known that, she wouldn't have learned what it was like to be truly poor because she would've never had to pay off her debt.
Mathilde Loisel is a beautiful girl who is married to a middle class clerk who seems to think that she deserves finer things just because she is beautiful. She doesn't care about her husband who will do just about anything for her, she feels angry and upset that she has to live in a plain house with plain clothes, and she dreamed of living in wealth. She seems like a selfish person. When she loses the necklace in the cab she freaks out and does everything she can to pay for a new one and had to live in rags for 10 years. She didn't know how good her life was until she lost it.
The end of the story was frustrating because if she had just told her friend what had happened her life would not have changed so drastically.
Mathilde Loisel is a very pretty girl who was married to a little clerk. she thinks that she should have nicer dresses and a higher way of living. she feels that she was not meant to be in a middle class life. since she did not live the lifestyle she wanted she became very angry. Mathilde borrows a friends necklace and makes the biggest mistake and losing it. her husband has nothing but sympathy for her. they both found a way to get little bits of money to replace the necklace. i was shocked in that she never told her friend what had happened so then her goal was to help someone else instead of thing of herself. RSL
Mathilde Loisel wishes to have everything. She wants to be rich and have huge parties and be happy. Sadly this can not happen for her because she was not born into royalty. She had so settle with her husband who was the ministry of public instruction. Which he was not very wealthy, so when they got invited to a big ball she did not have any jewarly. She ended up borrowing some from a friend and lost it. So instead of telling the friend the truth she borrowed a lot of money and then had to work it off for ten years. I was amazed and shocked when the friend said it was a fake, if it were me i would have been pissed.
Mathilde Loisel is a pretty woman who is married to a clerk who doesn't get paid much. She is materialistic and believes that since she is pretty, her husband should buy her stuff to make her happy and to look better. She was very selfish throughout the story and believed that she should live a better lifestyle such as having a nicer house. Once she lost her friends necklace, it changed her lifestyle and she realized how good her life was before.
The end of the story is an example of why no matter what, you should be honest to your friends. She should have told her that she lost the necklace instead of overpaying for a new one.
Mathilde Loisel is a very beautiful women woman who normally gets what she wants. Her husband buys her many things just to make her look better and to make her happy. She is also very selfish and loses the very expensive necklace. The reaction I had at the end of the story was very shocking because she did not tell her friend that she even lost the necklace.
Mathilde Loisel is a beautiful woman who is married to clerk. The clerk's income is very low. She is very uncaring of how much her husband works. She just takes his money and uses for things she does not need. She uses it for things she wants. She does not live like she should.
The end of the story is quite humorous because she really bothered me by the way she expected her husband to giver her things she doesn't need that he has worked hard for and doesn't get to spend on himself. I felt like the wife has brought this upon her husband and now her husband has to suffer because of her.
Mathilde Loisel was a pretty woman who expected everything in life to be handed to her. She seems like a bad person in general. She doesn't love her husband, and she wishes she had a richer one. She doesn't like the way her house looks. She wishes she could hire a maid to clean the house for her. She also doesn't have much self-confidence at all. She thinks that when she goes to the ball, she needs to be the one everyone is staring at, the hottest one there, and the woman all the men want to dance with. Her feeling of entitlement, envy of other women, and not loving her husband all make her a bad person. I was extremely surprised by the ending of the story. I never thought that Mathilde would tell Madame Foster about losing her necklace. I was also surprised when Madame Foster said that the original necklace only cost 500 francs, and Mathilde bought the replacement for 36,000 francs. It shows that you should always be upfront with someone when you have lost something of their's. It could save you tons of money.
Mathilde Loisel is an nice person who is married to Clerk. Mathilde is a women who usually gets what she wants, but she's very selfish and is attracted to expensive necklaces. However, Mathilde feels that she has to live in a higher way. Her and Mr.Clerk were invited to a party and she didn't have any necklaces to wear,so she borrowed a friends. Mathilde lost her friends necklace and instead of telling her the truth she had to make a lot of money to buy another necklace and her friend knew it was fake. D.D
Mathilde Loisel is an attractive woman who believes that she should have the best. When her husband, a clerk, goes out of his way to receive an invitation to a very exclusive party, all Mathilde does is gripe about what she will wear. After she finds her gown, she remembers that she needs jewelry. When Mathilde remembers of her dear friend Madame Loisel, she asks her for a favor. She asks if she can borrow a piece of jewelry. After the party, Mathilde could not find the necklace. Instead of telling Madame, Mathilde tries to find the money over the next few years. After many years, Mathilde pays it back. In this story, Mathilde realizes that telling the truth can save a lot of loss.
I learned that Mathilde always wants more. she is very poor but she really wants to have all the luxuries of a rich person. When she borrows jewels from her friend the loses them and works very hard to get them back. She was a changed person after that and learned she should just tell the truth. RH
Mathilde seemed like a person who thought that having a lot of stuff was the only was to be beautiful. If she didn't have some great dress or necklace, then she wasn't beautiful. Instead of just wearing what she had, she wouldn't go at all because she wouldn't have been the best looking one at the party. At the end of the story I felt kind of bad for Mathilde, but I also thought she should have just told her friend that she lost it instead of trying to hide it.
Mathilde Loisel is a middle-class woman who yearns to be rich and have all the pleasures of life, while her husband is a tiny clerk she can't do so. She borrows a beautiful necklace from her friend and looses it only to try to be beautiful for a party. I feel bad for her she can't accept that she doesn't have the wealth she wants and move on to accept the real pleasures in life.
I think that she acted spoiled except that she wasn't. She completely used up all their money and they had to live in poverty for many years because of her dishonesty.
Mathilde Loisel seems to want many luxuries that are not within her reach, therefore acting like a spoiled, selfish child. Although she was acting selfishly, I find it admirable that she worked so hard to try to replace the necklace she had lost. On the other hand, it could not have been because she though it was the right thing to do; maybe it was due to her fear of what would happen if her friend knew the truth. I have read this story many times, but I find the ending to be ironic. Who would have thought that the necklace was only worth 500 franks? H.L.
