TEWWG Chapters 15-20 Quotations

Please enter what you consider to be the most important quotation--pertaining to the subjects and themes on the handout I gave you--per chapter, from chapters 15-20. Therefore, each of you will enter 6 quotes (1 per chapter) of your choice, with page number after the quote. Write the subject/theme you are covering, and then write the quote with page number. Try to be unique in your quotes, though they will inevitably overlap. Leave your initials at the end of your entry. Thank you!

TEWWG Chapters 10-14 Subjects, Themes, and Quotations

Each chapter of TEWWG incorporates a different theme into the story, and all of the themes contribute to a few central subjects in the story. In your assigned chapter groups for chapters 10-14, please find as many meaningful quotations per chapter that contribute to and explain that chapter's theme as you all can.

Write out your chapter's assigned theme(s); then, write each quotation, and--using MLA, parenthetical citation--cite each quotation.

At the end of this blog post, we should have a bank of useful quotations to discuss and use later from the novel.

Be sure to include each group member's initials at the end of the post for full credit.

You Are the Poetry Teacher

In class today, you were assigned one poetry term to teach in class tomorrow, 2/1. Please post in this order:
1. the poetry term that you were assigned with its definition
2. 2 different examples (from poems or songs) that display your poetry term
3. a brief explanation (3-4 sentences) expanding on how the term applies or how the
poet or songwriter used the poetry term in his/her poem/song.

You will teach the class this concept tomorrow, and we will use the blog as a visual.

Post this BEFORE class begins.

Leave your initials at the end. Thank you!

"The Red Wheelbarrow" Blog

Under Fresh Documents on the class web page, you will find one of my favorite poems. Please download and read William Carlos Williams' "The Red Wheelbarrow". Often cited as one of the most cryptic poems ever written, the poem has mystified readers for years. Please interpret the poem in your own way. In no fewer than five sentences, please discuss the poem and its meaning to you. After your entry, please type your initials. Thank you!
