  1. Sweatshirt

    It's old and torn
    used and worn
    been dropped and stained
    the one in all
    the picture frames

    bigger and bigger
    by the year
    and every winter
    the more i hear

    its old and its dusty
    you should throw it away
    but i don't care
ill wear it all my days

  2. Children

    Children are fun,
they are as bright as the sun

They make people wonder, "Is this what I really want?"
Some say yes, some say no
some say heck, I don't know!

They believe in Santa, the Tooth Fairy, and the Easter Bunny
and when they're all grown up, you still want to call them hunny.
They don't know what they want, they don't know what they need
But, I see the light in children that is absolutely key.

  3. Soccer

    Soccer is fun
sweat trickles down the faces of the players,
    loud cheers rumble the ground

    The wind is piercing
hands turning red and are throbbing
the cold creeps up on us along with the darkness

We pass skillfully around the defense
the left forward bites his lip when a burst of cold air hits his face
    he takes the shot

  4. Time

    Working out is like
    planting a garden

There is no smell like it
they need water to make it

you start out small with nothing
    but grow tall with everything

and it does not all happen at once
if it does it was not just

    working out is like
    planting a garden

    It takes time

  5. Popcorn

    Sealed up in a bag
    jumping with glee
    ready to be free

    I might take awhile
    until I am wild
add some butter until I am mild

a dash of salt or maybe three
    after you taste me

you might need to run a mile
but I was all worth the while

  6. Football

    As the crowed are shouting
and jumping all around the stands,
the team gets hyper and hyper for the peer
the players run out on the field
where they let all the anger disappear
the opponent from the other team
gets hyper and hyper but at the
end of the day they're still filled
    with so much anger

  7. Spring

    Water is dripping
    From the gutter.
    Warm icicles fall
    And dent the snow.
    They leave behind a scar
    In the white blanket.
Green is starting to be seen
    Through the melting snow.
    Winter is fading
    And spring is awakening.

  9. For The Thrill

I step foot into the cool gym,the familiar sounds of warn out shoes hitting the floor and she sharp sound of the whistles fills the room. The loud warm up music echoes off the never ending walls surrounding me, the sounds softly vibrate the carefully painted floor underneath me.
I hear a loud noise, every muscle in my body tenses, we exchange quick stares and glares as the rush runs through my body when we hear the sound of the ball crushing around your cool skin.
We watch the team on the opposite side, waiting for a failure waiting for our chance.
This feeling is why we practice,
    It's why we play,
It's all for the thrill of the game.

  10. I Asked God

I asked God if it was okay to be different
    And she said, "Yes!"
I asked her if it was okay to be tall
    And she said, "Absolutely!"
I asked her I could act all day
    And sing all night
    And she said babe
    She calls me that sometimes
She said you can do exactly what you want to
    "Thanks God", I said
And is it even okay to not want to be a doctor or lawyer
But to be on a writer or a teacher
    "Pink Cheeks", God said
Who knows how she thought of that one
    What I’m telling you is
    "Yes, Yes, Yes"

  11. Sports

    Sports are fun
You have to try hard and run

    Even when you are down
You give it all you got

To put that last point on the board
To win the game and even more

    You go home and sleep
Thinking about the game you just won

  12. leaves

    the leaves on the tree
change color from season to season
small and green in the spring
large and green in the summer
    to golden brown and
    orange in autumn
    to yellow, and dying
    on the ground in winter
trampled by all the kids playing
    in the snow

  13. i like school
    not because its cool,
    because i like the show
    of everything that people know
    and how they say it
    and how they crave it.
but i dont like is when you take a test
and you didnt do your best
and you look at the rest and they aced the test
that you did do your best on.

  15. The Obstacle

    The time has come
    To come undone
It's time to face your fears
There's no need to be scared
As you get closer, it shows itself
The path guides you; there's no need for help
Once you find your way, it all makes sense
It was the barrier between you, the fence
Now you can go on with your life
You know there won't be another surprise

  16. The Beach

    I race down the path
    Not looking around,
Having thoughts only for my destination
    When I finally arrive,
    I am alone
    I throw down my shirt
And step lightly on the hot sand
When I get to the water's edge,
    I hesitate, then dive in
The cool waves washing my worries away.
